Green Bay Swim Club

Swimming has been a part of my life since I was 13. I have been coaching swimming for the Green Bay Swim Club for 21 years. I swam club, high school, and all four years of college level. I am going on coaching Green Bay East/Preble High School Girls team for 7 years. I am currently the Pool Director at the YWCA.

I have three children that have all swam. My 2 daughters have gone on to swim in college at the University of Green Bay.

I love to work with children and I love to watch the mature not only into good swimmers, but also to watch the mature into good people. It is fun to watch the grow with their swimming abilities and to see al the fun they have with each other. Swimming brings much joy to my life and I hope I pass down the passion to them.

I have been coaching swimming in Green Bay for 16 years. I swam club/age group, high school, and all four years at the college level. All together my swimming career lasted 15 years. I started coaching for the Green Bay YMCA in 1994-1998. I started coaching High School Green Bay East/Preble (1999). I coached for Green Bay East/Preble until 2007-2008. I started helping with GBSC in 2003/4 - present. I am a stay at home mom four days a week and work as an art teacher for the Green Bay Public School istric one day a week. I have three children that swim for GBSC in various age groups.

I have three sisters that also swam high school and at the college level. We competed and trained in Northeastern Illinois. My dad was my high school coach and my training coach during summer breaks in college. I believe my love for the sport came from my parents who gave me encouragement, support and occasionally tough love when training and going to swim meets.

I have been coaching swimming for over 24 years. I started my coaching career as a Special Olympics Coach as a high school student. I swam in both High School at Appleton West and then in college at the University of Wisconsin Stevens Point. I have coached for Bayport High School for the last 3 years.

I have 2 children who both swim. My daughter swims for high school right now. I am currently the Human Resource Manager for the Oneida tribe. I also have a home business in which I help swimmers improve their technique by videotaping and providing tips for improving their skill. Swimming is a life sport that teaches many life lessons. the sport has a little bit of a lot of important things in life.
